Q. How do Dektites cope with the high temperatures and strong UV light?

A. The special polymer formulations of EPDM will tolerate extremes of heat and UV light. The Dektite can withstand heat from -50 degrees to 115 degrees or 150 degrees intermittently.

Q. Can Dektites be painted different colours?

A. Yes they can, but it must be 100% Acrylic paint.

Q. What is the life expectancy of a Dektite Flashing?

A. Accelerated aging tests in laboratories confirm no significant degradation in at least 20 years. That’s why Dektite provide a 20-year warranty.

Q. Can a Dektite be installed around any kind of pipe?

A. Under no circumstances should any Dektite product be used on an unapproved (i.e. single skin) flue discharging from a wood combustion appliance.

Q. What type of sealant should be used?

A. We recommend the use of a neutral care, Alcohol-free, low modulus silicone sealant. e.g. Bostik

Q. What type of screws should be used with a Dektite?

A. Use self-drilling screws or pop (sealed) rivets when fastening flashings. Fasten from vertical centre to outside.
